2024 expedition plans
By David Jensen
On June 7 I leave for the North Island. I plan to spend approximately four weeks cleaning Cape Russell, north to Guise bay near Cape Scott, as weather and tide allow. My goal is to complete the headlands and pocket beaches on this coastline.
Parks Canada is generously providing the helicopter supply drops and Living Oceans the 100 bags and their removal to final destination, either recycling or landfill.
The Scott Islands expedition is pending funding which won't be known until I return from the first expedition. If successfully funded, around August 1st, I have arranged for a boat to drop me off with supplies. I hope to spend at least two weeks as I have 50 bags available to fill. In contrast I had only 30 bags available last year.
Stay tuned, and please consider getting on board and helping with the cleanup of our beautiful shorelines. All donations are greatly appreciated. You can send your donation to donate@lonepaddle.org
